Full match results from Saturday’s #PPW83 taping at Premier Pro Wrestling studios in Woodstock, IL.

“TEXAS” PETE DEF. ZERO 1
Hitting the ring with a fire in his belly, “Texas” Pete used his unorthodox in-ring style to overcome martial arts master, Zero 1, despite a few impressive offensive flurries from Zero 1.

CHASE GOSLING DEF. “THE URBAN REBELLION” CUTTA CROSBY
Former partners / tag team champions collided when Chase Gosling stepped into the ring against Cutta Crosby. Knowing each other so well, the momentum shifted between the competitors at an even pace until Chase reversed a roll-up from Cutta and used the ropes for leverage, netting him the pin.

“THE SCIENCE” MARCUS SMITH DEF. INIESTRA
After having Marcus Smith refer to him as a “chi-wah-wah,” Iniestra set out to make Marcus eat those words and it appeared as though he might be successful, but Marcus, never one to shy away from taking shortcuts, Marcus caught Iniestra in a pinning predicament and pulled Iniestra’s trunks to pick up a pin fall victory.

Marcus’ victory was short-lived, however, when his old rival, “Irish” Andy Anderson, entered the ring and persuaded the referee to reverse the decision, granting the victory to Iniestra and leaving Marcus furious. Seizing the opportunity, Premier CEO Randy Ricci appeared carrying the long-dormant PPW World Tag Team Championship belts and announced that there would be a tournament over the coming weeks to crown new tag team champions! In classic PPW fashion, however, Randy shook things up by announcing that there would be two special stipulations to the tournament. First, the teams will be decided via random drawing and second, whichever competitor loses will be eliminated from the tournament while his partner will be allowed to remain to compete with another to-be-determined partner. Randy then made the decision to not wait and declared that the first match of the tournament would begin immediately with Iniestra teaming with Zero 2 and Marcus Smith, much to his chagrin, teaming with Andy Anderson!

– FIRST ROUND TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT MATCH –
“THE SCIENCE” MARCUS SMITH & “IRISH” ANDY ANDERSON DEF. ZERO 2 & INIESTRA
In what was certainly an interesting matchup to say the least, the odd couple pairing of Marcus Smith and Andy Anderson stunned the Premier Planet when they were able to pick up a first round victory over their opponents, Iniestra and Zero 2. Throughout the match, Andy repeatedly treated Marcus as more of an opponent than a partner, putting as much of an offense on him as he put on Iniestra and Zero 2. Finally able to put some distance between himself, Iniestra, and his tag team partner, Marcus utilized the same dirty trick that almost netted him a victory in the prior matchup. Rolling up Zero 2 and holding his trunks, Marcus was able to pick up the 1, 2, 3 for his team and he and Andy move on in the tournament while Iniestra must now compete with a new partner. Unfortunately for Zero 2, being the man who lost the fall means that he is now out of the tournament.

After the match, Randy Ricci reappeared and announced that Iniestra’s partner had been drawn for next week. Unfortunately for Woodstock’s favorite son, his new partner is none other than the frequent thorn in his side, Chase Gosling. The two will face the equally opposite team of Andy Anderson and Marcus Smith.

RONNY METRO VS. “THE HUMAN VIDEO GAME” SCOTT COLTON (C) THROWN OUT DUE TO OUTSIDE INTERFERENCE
After interfering in the World Title match between Scott Colton and Matt Vine last week, Ronny Metro was granted a rematch for the championship after falling short two weeks prior. Never shying away from a fight, Scott Colton gladly stepped into the ring to put his title on the line. After exchanging momentum on numerous occasions, it appeared as if Ronny was about to clinch the gold when karma reared its head in the form of Matt Vine who jumped Ronny from behind, forcing the referee to throw the match out. When the dust finally settled, Randy Ricci reemerged and announced that, next week, there will be a triple threat match for the PPW World Heavyweight Championship between Ronny Metro, Matt Vine, and the champ Scott Colton!
