Full match results from May 6, 2017 #PPW142 taping at Premier Pro Wrestling studios in Woodstock, IL and Post Show Wrap Up with Justin Barlow.
– NON-TITLE MATCH –
PPW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION “THE HUNK WITH THE TREE TRUNKS” CHASE GOSLING DEF. “TEXAS” PETE VIA SUBMISSION
With gold on his trunks and gold around his waist, the opening contest featured reigning PPW World Heavyweight Champion, Chase Gosling, in non-title action against PPW veteran, “Texas” Pete. At first the veteran instincts and ring awareness of “Texas” Pete had the champ on the run, but the savvy Chase was able to regain control of the matchup and sent the veteran packing with a Saturday Night Special submission.
– SINGLES MATCH –
RONNY “VERONICA” METRO DEF. “THE PERSIAN POWERHOUSE” MILAD AKBAR VIA PIN FALL
There was a lot to prove in the next match as two of the six individuals who have earned WWE NXT tryouts thanks to the Premier Academy tangled in the ring. Not having forgotten the beatdown he received at the hands of the Dirty Boys Club a few months back, former PPW World Heavyweight Champion, Milad Akbar was chomping at the bit for a shot at one of its members and he got the eccentric and bizarre Ronny “VeRonica” Metro. Knowing that NXT officials have been watching, the two would not offer an inch up to the other and the result was an exciting exchange of professional wrestling prowess, that was until Ronny decided to take the low road when he got Milad into a pinning predicament and, while the referee’s eyes were on Milad’s shoulders, used the second rope for added leverage, picking up the win and getting out of dodge before a visibly irritated Milad was able to regroup.
– TAG TEAM MATCH –
PPW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION “THE HUNK WITH THE TREE TRUNKS” CHASE GOSLING & “IRISH” ANDY ANDERSON DEF. RANGER RAY & JAMIE FROM THE BLOCK VIA PIN FALL
Hungry for more opportunities to prove themselves, Premier Academy standouts Jamie from the Block and Ranger Ray were tested to their limit as they entered into a tag team match against two thirds of the Dirty Boys Club, Andy Anderson and PPW World Heavyweight Champion Chase Gosling. Cocky that they had the match in the bag before the bell even rang, Andy and Chase were in for a surprise when Jamie and Ray put them on the run on more than a few occasions, showing the heart and drive that have made them Academy standouts. Unfortunately it was not enough to bring home the W and, thanks to a brutal powerbomb to Ranger Ray, Chase was able to seal the deal for the D.B.C.
– SINGLES MATCH –
HAMMOND EGGERT DEF. “THE CORNFED COLOSSUS” MICHAEL MACK VIA DISQUALIFICATION
After being offered an opportunity to join the Dirty Boys Club last week, Hammond Eggert came to ringside with the three charter members in tow. Offering encouragement and guidance from the outside, the D.B.C. did their best to coach Hammond through the daunting task of putting down the 280 pound Texan, Michael Mack. After they stuck their nose in Mack’s business, however, all three found themselves in the ring feeling the big man’s wrath. This, however, lead to the referee calling for a disqualification against Mack for bringing the others into the match. As the D.B.C. praised and celebrated their “little Ham,” a livid Mack chased the four to the back with a full head of steam, hell bent on payback.
– #1 CONTENDERSHIP ROUND ROBIN TOURNAMENT MATCH –
“THE WORLD EXCLUSIVE” MATT VINE DEF. “THE HUMAN VIDEO GAME” SCOTT COLTON VIA PIN FALL
Still having no legitimate number one contender to the PPW World Heavyweight Championship, the round robin tournament that has taken place over recent weeks has continually heated up. This time, former champions collided when Matt Vine pitted his power game against Scott Colton’s agility. What resulted was a heart-stopping matchup that left the Premier Planet biting their nails, waiting to see who would earn the edge in the tournament. After battling for over half an hour, Colton set Vine up for a superplex off the top rope, but Vine was able to maneuver his weight and fell across Colton, knocking the wind out of his opponent and landing on top of him for the 1-2-3, bringing him one step closer to the number one contendership and one step closer to regaining the PPW World Heavyweight Championship.
