– SINGLES MATCH –
INIESTRA DEF. ANAKIN BY WAY OF PIN FALL
In an impressive exhibition in the evening’s opening contest, PPW Academy standout, Anakin, came within a hair of picking up a big moral victory over number one contender to the PPW World Heavyweight Championship, Iniestra, whose new attitude as of late has drawn the ire of not only the champion, but the Premier Planet as a whole. It seemed that Iniestra might be humbled by the rookie, but a well-placed springboard moonsault sealed the deal for Anakin and Iniestra walked away with a victory before his main event title match later in the evening.
– SINGLES MATCH –
“THE SCIENCE” MARCUS SMITH DEF. ZERO 2 (W/ ZERO 1) BY WAY OF PIN FALL
In customary fashion, “The Science” Marcus Smith tickled the ribs of the Premier Planet with a joke before the bell, but the Zeroes were in no laughing mood as they tried to make an example of him. Marcus proved why he is called “The Science,” however, by using his intellect to overcome the numbers game and pick up the win when Zero 1 got on the apron to cheer his partner on while Zero 2 had Marcus in a sleeper hold. Dropkicking Zero 1 off the apron, Marcus was able to use the backwards momentum to roll back and pin Zero 2, getting out of dodge before the Zeroes could exact revenge.
– NUMBER ONE CONTENDERSHIP MATCH –
RONNY “VERONICA” METRO DEF. “THE HUNK WITH THE TREE TRUNKS” CHASE GOSLING BY WAY OF PIN FALL
With their feud now more bitter than ever, former Dirty Boys Club partners, Chase Gosling and Ronny Metro, went toe-to-toe with the number one contendership to the PPW World Heavyweight Championship on the line. Each strike and each hold seemed to come with added insult as this rivalry has become personal to a near extreme level. With neither willing to give a millimeter, let alone an inch, the two traded momentum for nearly half an hour before the referee was rendered incapacitated due to a running knee from Chase that was intended for Ronny. A second referee entered the ring to take over, but the original referee came to just as Chase and Ronny found themselves in a pinning predicament and both wrestlers’ shoulders were counted down by both referees. After a short dispute which left the fans holding their breath, it was ruled that the original referee’s decision would be final, making Ronny the winner and new number one contender.
– PPW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH –
INIESTRA VS. “THE WORLD EXCLUSIVE” MATT VINE (C) THROWN OUT DUE TO OUTSIDE INTERFERENCE
Seeming to be going out of his way to be a thorn in his opponent’s side lately, Iniestra, brought his new attitude to the ring with him as he prepared to face reigning champ, Matt Vine, for the title. Matt, however, was not about to let Iniestra ruin his record setting third reign as champion with insults and mind games and appeared focused and unshaken, controlling a significant portion of the match, but an interference from new number one contender, Ronny “Veronica” Metro, caused the referee to throw the match out after Matt was about to put Iniestra away after a pendulum slam. Since the title can only change hands via pin fall or submission, Matt Vine remains PPW Champion, but it was announced that, at PPW #166, Matt will defend the championship against Ronny and Iniestra, who did not officially lose the match, in a triangle match!
