NUMBER ONE CONTENDERS GAUNTLET –

After a string of successful title defenses over recent weeks despite not knowing the identity of his opponent until the night of, PPW World Heavyweight Champion, Ronny “Veronica” Metro went into #PPW190 once again not knowing who would be next in line to challenge him for the gold. This time, Ronny’s challenger would be decided by way of a gauntlet in which wrestlers drew numbers before the taping to decide who would enter the gauntlet at what time. The wrestlers who drew numbers one and two would start the gauntlet. When one was eliminated, the wrestler who drew the following number would enter to start a new match with the winner of the previous fall. The gauntlet would go until only one wrestler remained and that wrestler would be crowned the number one contender. Beginning the gauntlet were Premier Academy standout, La Tarantula and Anakin, and the order of eliminations went as follows…

  • Anakin def. La Tarantula by way of pin fall
  • “The Hunk with the Tree Trunks” Chase Gosling def. Anakin by way of pin fall
  • Sem Sei def. Chase Gosling by way of pin fall after Iniestra provided a distraction
  • “El Mero Mero” Iniestra def. Sem Sei by way of pin fall when Sem laid down and allowed Iniestra to pin him
  • Iniestra def. “The World Exclusive” Matt Vine by way of pin fall by putting his feet on the ropes for added leverage

It came down to the final participant who turned out to be none other than “Irish” Andy Anderson. With Iniestra already worn due to the grueling match he had just endured against former three time champion, Matt Vine, Andy seized the moment and was able to utilize a schoolboy to roll Iniestra up for the pin and the number on contendership. However, Iniestra was not about to let Andy have the last laugh and as Andy began celebrating in the ring, Iniestra pulled Andy down by his shoulders and delivered two knees to Andy’s back, leaving Andy laying in the middle of the ring.

PPW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH –
“IRISH” ANDY ANDERSON DEF. RONNY “VERONICA” METRO (C) BY WAY OF COUNT OUT

With Andy still reeling from the sneak attack by Iniestra, Ronny Metro decided that he didn’t want to wait until later in the evening to defend his title and demanded that his match with Andy begin right then and there. His demand was granted, but what Ronny thought would be an easy victory turned out to be anything but as Andy, though wounded, fought his way back into an offense. Not pleased with this turn of events, Ronny chose to leave the ringside area and head for the locker room. This lead to the referee counting to ten and awarding the match to Andy. However, since a title cannot change hands via count out or disqualification, Ronny Metro remains PPW World Heavyweight Champion.

This coming Saturday, Ronny will compete in non-title action, gaining a week off from title defenses. As for the number one contender, it was announced that there will be a tournament held to decide who would be next to challenge Ronny for the gold, but this will be no ordinary tournament as the opening round matches will be decided by the Premier Planet by way of a Random Fandom, meaning the wrestlers will not know who they will face in the opening round until the fans draw their names, leaving the wrestlers zero time to prepare and forcing them to adapt to whatever situation they may be faced with.

SINGLES MATCH –
SKYE BLUE DEF. “SHREDDIN’” CONNOR CORR

Still fighting for “equality” amongst the PPW roster, Connor Corr set his sights back on his arch nemesis, Skye Blue, but as Connor attempted to attack Skye while she was on the apron, Skye delivered a shoulder into Connor’s abdomen, breaking off his attack and enabling her to slide into the ring beneath Connor, bring him down to the canvass, and, displaying her athletic prowess, roll over the top of him and hook his legs for the 1-2-3.

TRIPLE THREAT TAG TEAM MATCH –
ZERO 2 & ZERO 3 DEF. “EL MERO MERO” INIESTRA & SEM SEI AND “THE WORLD EXCLUSIVE” MATT VINE & ANAKIN BY WAY OF COUNT OUT

Last week, Zero 2 & Zero 3 (now under the apparent tutelage of Connor Corr) caused a tag team match between Iniestra & Sem Sei and Anakin & Matt Vine to be thrown out when they interfered and attacked both teams. Premier officials saw no other recourse than to sign a triple threat match where all three teams would compete against one another. Due to the animosity that now festers between these three teams, the match broke down into chaos and soon, after a string of high risk offense, all six competitors found themselves on the floor outside of the ring as the referee counted his way to ten. At the last possible moment, however, one of the Zeroes was able to roll under the bottom rope and, as the other five remained on the floor, the referee hit the ten count and the Zeroes were awarded the match by way of count out.
