Full match results from April 28, 2018 #PPW193 taping at Premier Pro Wrestling studios in Woodstock, IL and Post Show Wrap Up with Justin Barlow.
SINGLES MATCH –
“EL MERO MERO” INIESTRA DEF. “IRISH” ANDY ANDERSON BY WAY OF DISQUALIFICATION
The evening’s opening contest pitted two of PPW’s top veterans against one another when Andy Anderson took on Iniestra. While Andy had numerous opportunities to end the match, he was unable to close the deal when he repeatedly tried to pin Iniestra with Iniestra on his stomach rather than on his back so the referee could count his shoulders down. Now, seemingly more interested in punishing his opponent rather than beating him, Andy delivered a headbutt to Iniestra’s…nether regions…which lead to the referee calling the matchup in Iniestra’s favor by way of a disqualification for the blatant low blow, but Andy seemed unfazed by the loss as he proceeded to celebrate in the ring and out on the floor with the Premier Planet.
RANDOM FANDOM CHALLENGE –
“THE HUNK WITH THE TREE TRUNKS” CHASE GOSLING DEF. “NOT BAD” CHAD BY WAY OF SUBMISSION
The first participant drawn to compete in the Random Fandom was a young Premier Academy standout who made his PPW debut one week ago, “Not Bad” Chad, but as enthusiastic as he was to compete, Chad had a mountain of a challenge ahead of him when his opponent was drawn and revealed to be former two-time PPW Champion, Chase Gosling. To the surprise of many in attendance, Chad held his own against Chase, showcasing the skills he has picked up in his time at the Academy, but Chase’s strength and experience were too much for the rookie and Chase ended Chad’s hopes of a first victory with a Saturday Night Special in the middle of the ring which left Chad no choice but to tap out. Gracious in victory, however, Chase publicly acknowledged and congratulated Chad on a valiant effort before heading for the showers to prepare for his upcoming tag team match later in the evening.
SEM SEI DEF. LEVI BY WAY OF PIN FALL
Match number two saw the debut of another standout from the Premier Academy, Levi, who was tasked with a daunting challenge when his opponent was drawn and revealed to be the crafty Sem Sei. Seemingly overflowing with confidence in an easy win over the newcomer, Sem was in for a surprise when Levi gave Sem a barrage of offense which left Sem in need to rethink his strategy, all while the clock ticked away and time grew short. With only about fifteen seconds left in the time limit, Sem, apparently in a move of pure desperation, rolled Levi up with a small package and grabbed a handful of tights for added leverage which was enough for Sem to steal a pin fall victory out from under the newcomer at almost literally the last second.
ANAKIN DEF. LA TARANTULA BY WAY OF PIN FALL
With only two names left, the Premier Planet waited in anticipation to see who the final two participants would be. The first of the last two names drawn was La Tarantula, still seeking his first victory since debuting in PPW some months ago and his opponent was revealed to be PPW’s resident young hotshot, Anakin. No strangers to each other due to their time spent at the Premier Academy together, the two put on an exciting match, exchanging the advantage on numerous occasions, but in the end Anakin was able to float over La Tarantula with a sunset flip and use the momentum to roll him up for a pin fall victory.
TAG TEAM MATCH –
“THE HUNK WITH THE TREE TRUNKS” CHASE GOSLING & ANAKIN DEF. “EL MERO MERO” INIESTRA & SEM SEI BY WAY OF PIN FALL
After their match at #PPW192 ended in somewhat controversial fashion, a rematch was issued by the Premier head office and the two teams who share a mutual disdain for one another locked horns to see who the better team truly is. Knowing they were at a disadvantage to Chase’s size and power, Iniestra and Sem spent the majority of the match attempting to isolate Anakin from his corner so he could not make the tag to Chase, but Anakin eventually broke free and a fired up Chase was tagged into the match. However, in a incredible odd-defying turn of events, their previous encounter repeated itself when there was another double pin just as there had been the week prior, leaving a momentary question of which team had scored the pin, but it was announced that, due to Chase having Iniestra pinned and the two of them being the legal men in the ring, Chase and Anakin were declared the winners. Fuming over the call, Iniestra demanded that Premier COO Randy Ricci come to ringside to address the situation. Randy decided that the only way to settle the score would be in a two-out-of-three falls match next week!
– PPW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH –
“THE WORLD EXCLUSIVE” MATT VINE VS. RONNY “VERONICA” METRO (C) RULED A DOUBLE COUNT OUT
When Ronny retained his title due to outside interference at #PPW192, a rematch was scheduled to give the two another chance to prove who truly deserves to sit on the throne of PPW. As the match wore on, Ronny found himself in an increasingly desperate situation as he felt his title slowly begin to slip away. Looking to take the easy way out, Ronny was able to send Matt to the outside and demanded that the referee start the ten count, but Matt was able to get back into the ring with only a split second to spare before the referee completed the count at which point a superkick found its mark under Ronny’s chin, sending him to the outside, but just like Matt, Ronny was able to get back into the ring right before the referee reached the ten count. When Ronny got back to his feet, Matt charged and delivered a cross body, this time sending both the floor. This time, however, exhaustion had set too far in, leaving both men unable to re-enter the ring before the referee counted to ten, resulting in a double count out and leading to Ronny once again retaining the title. After the match, a visibly distraught Matt pleaded his case to Randy Ricci for another match. Randy told Matt that he had the COO’s blessing as long as he could get the Premier Planet behind the match. Taking his case to the fans in attendance, Matt was able to gather the support he needed to get his rematch and Ronny will be forced to defend the PPW World Heavyweight Championship against Matt this coming Saturday at #PPW194.
