#PPW201 RESULTS

SINGLES MATCH –
“NOT BAD” CHAD DEF. JOSE ACOSTA BY WAY OF PIN FALL

The evening’s opening contest featured two of the Premier Academy’s top standouts in “Not Bad” Chad and Jose Acosta who put on an exciting exhibition of the skills they’ve been learning and honing at the Academy, but only one could prevail and, with just a little more experience on his side, Chad was able to execute a sunset flip on Jose to pick up the pin fall, but that did not stop him from extending his hand to Jose after the match and the two stood before the Premier Planet and congratulated each other on a hard-fought matchup.

#1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT QUALIFYING MATCH –
LEVI DEF. LA TARANTULA BY WAY OF PIN FALL

After their match at #PPW200 ended in a time limit draw, Levi and La Tarantula were granted a rematch with an extra five minutes on the clock and, with the added incentive of the match being turned into a qualifying match for the #1 contender tournament to take place on Saturday, both put in every effort to find that one crucial moment to catch his opponent off guard and seize the victory and, with the clock winding down, it would be Levi who would find that crucial opening and roll La Tarantula up for the pin, making him the first to qualify for the tournament.

#1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT QUALIFYING MATCH –
CONNOR CORR DEF. “IRISH” ANDY ANDERSON BY WAY OF DISQUALIFICATION

Seemingly drawing the short straw in the tournament qualifying matches, Connor Corr had the unenviable task of taking on PPW’s longest standing veteran, Andy Anderson, who, in the process of trying to punish Connor for disrespect Connor had shown him throughout the matchup, got carried away and delivered a headbutt to Connor’s nether regions, forcing the referee to call for the disqualification, but while Connor may have won the match, he didn’t leave without a painful reminder of what happens when you cross “Irish” Andy.

SINGLES MATCH –
SKYE BLUE DEF. ZERO 1 BY WAY OF PIN FALL

After being disrespected by her old nemesis, Connor Corr, at #PPW200, Skye Blue announced that she would be returning to action at #PPW201, but before she’d be allowed to get her hands on Connor, she first had to contend with Zero 1 in one-on-one competition in order to earn the right. Despite being on the shelf with a broken elbow for the better part of two months, Skye seemed to not have a speck of ring rust as she put the skills and heart she has become known for on full display as she put a wrestling clinic on Zero 1 who tried to take a few shortcuts along the way, but as he attempted a superplex from the top rope, Skye was able to leap down, still interlocked with Zero 1, and deliver a tornado suplex to seal the deal and pick up the pin, earning a victory in her first match back in PPW and a match with Connor Corr on Saturday night.

#1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT QUALIFYING MATCH –
“THE HUNK WITH THE TREE TRUNKS” CHASE GOSLING DEF. SEM SEI BY WAY OF PIN FALL

With their ongoing feud not reaching what was thought would be it’s settlement at #PPW201, Iniestra, Sem Sei, Anakin, and Chase Gosling were given another hot at each other, but this time it would be in the form of two singles matches with top seating in the #1 contender tournament on the line. Given the bad blood between the four, partners were barred from ringside to level the playing field. First up were Sem Sei and Chase Gosling. Having been sent running for the hills when his and Iniestra’s kendo stick attack on Chase and Anakin during their two-out-of-three falls tag team match at #PPW200 was turned on them, Sem Sei wanted to save face by proving he could best Chase one-on-one, but while he gave the former two-time PPW Champion a tough test of endurance, Chase seized on an opening during a quick exchange to go airborne and deliver a leg lariat to Sem, knocking him out long enough for the referee to make the three count and take Chase into the tournament to go after his third title reign.

#1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT QUALIFYING MATCH –
“EL MERO MERO” INIESTRA DEF. ANAKIN BY WAY OF PIN FALL

With his partner, Sem Sei, bested in the previous contest, it was up to “El Mero Mero” Iniestra to stop the momentum of the competition, but he would first have to get through the young and fiery Anakin to do so. With both competitors equally comfortable on the mat and in the air, it was difficult to tell who would emerge with that critical top seat in the tournament, but perhaps it was the experience edge of Iniestra that proved to be the X-factor. During a quick exchange of offense, Iniestra was able to cut off Anakin’s momentum and deliver a northern lights suplex for the pin, bringing Iniestra one step closer to regaining the championship and stopping his rival, Chase Gosling, along the way.

#1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT MATCH –
LEVI DEF. CONNOR CORR BY WAY OF PIN FALL

Still worse for wear after his disqualification victory over Andy Anderson earlier in the evening, Connor Corr seemed to still be out of sorts as he entered the ring to face Levi in the first match of the #1 contender tournament. Throughout the match, Connor would attempt to utilize shortcuts in order to halt the rookie in his tracks, but Levi, who has developed a reputation around the Premier Academy for his quick learning capability and determination, was able to turn the tables on Connor and made it Connor’s undoing when Connor charged at Levi in the corner. Evading the impact at the last possible moment, Levi seized the moment and delivered an inverted DDT, planting Connor on the back of his head and allowing Levi the opening he needed to secure the three count. Now ahead of everyone else in the tournament, does Levi have what it takes to go all the way and earn his first ever world championship match? We’ll find out tonight at #PPW202.

NON-TITLE MATCH –
JAY BRADLEY DEF. PPW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION “THE WORLD EXCLUSIVE” MATT VINE BY WAY OF PIN FALL

Earlier in the week, the Premier Planet listened on as the 6’5” 275lb international star, Jay Bradley, issued a stern warning to PPW World Heavyweight Champion Matt Vine that he was not coming to take Matt’s title, but to make an example of him to show the rest of the wrestling world why he (Jay) is to be taken seriously. Outmatched in nearly every physical aspect as well as experience, the champion put his heart and soul on full display as he fought what might arguably be his most daunting challenge to date, but every time Matt would rally, Jay would be right there to stop him in his tracks and, despite coming within a hair of making Jay eat his own words, Matt fell victim to a devastating impact from the Pro Wrestling Noah star which was enough to knock the last gasp out of the champion and give Jay the extra push forward he needed to cover Matt and pick up a victory by way of pin fall. Having suffered a crushing loss after an intense physical battle with Jay Bradley, what kind of state will Matt Vine’s mind and body be in when he puts the PPW World Heavyweight Championship on the line against the winner of the #1 contender tournament tonight in Woodstock? Will Matt find the will within to fend off another challenger or will the champ’s physical and mental condition be his undoing as his record-setting fourth title reign comes to an end at the hands of a yet to be determined opponent?

#PPW202 RESULTS

#1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT MATCH –
“EL MERO MERO” INIESTRA DEF. “THE HUNK WITH THE TREE TRUNKS” CHASE GOSLING BY WAY OF DISQUALIFICATION

After earning their place in the tournament on Friday night, bitter rivals, Iniestra and Chase Gosling, went toe-to-toe with more than just their ever growing feud at stake. With both being former champions, both wanted badly to get back to the top of the mountain in PPW and knowing they had an opportunity to leave Woodstock with the title led them to put on an exciting contest that was either man’s to take until Sem Sei emerged from the locker room, but he was quickly followed in hot pursuit by Anakin. A chase around the floor ensued and soon both Sem Sei and Anakin wound up in the ring, but Sem was able to exit a split second before the referee looked up to see what was happening and, seeing only Anakin in the ring, the referee called for the bell and awarded the match to Iniestra by way of disqualification.

SECOND CHANCE #1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT MATCH –
ANAKIN DEF. SEM SEI BY WAY OF PIN FALL

Where there are winners in any tournament, there are also those who didn’t quite make it and, on Friday night, Anakin and Sem Sei had come up short in their tournament qualifying matches, but because of their status on the Premier roster and because Premier officials like nothing more than a good shake-up, both men were given an opportunity against each other to get back into the hunt for the number one contendership. Already having gotten under each other’s skin for the evening, the match seemed to be just as much about bragging rights as it did the chance at a title shot. Having come up together at the Premier Academy, Sem and Anakin traded the momentum back and forth several times until Anakin was able to catch Sem in a compromising position on the top rope and, from there, he delivered an impactful sunset flip powerbomb, leaving Sem stunned and giving Anakin the opening he needed to secure the pin and earn his place in the tournament. However, the celebration was short-lived as Sem and Iniestra began a beat-down on the young hotshot, but Chase Gosling was not about to let his young protege be thrown to the wolves and ran in for the save before any major damage could be done to Anakin. Far from happy with the turn of events, Chase called for a mic and laid out a challenge to Iniestra and Sem Sei for a tag team match against him and Anakin at #PPW203. Clearly, the rivalry between the four is not only not over, but has reached a new level of bitterness.

TRIPLE THREAT #1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT FINAL –
LEVI DEF. “EL MERO MERO” INIESTRA AND ANAKIN BY WAY OF PIN FALL

With the second chance match between Anakin and Sem Sei came another exciting twist to the tournament. With another competitor now in the mix, the tournament final went from being one-on-one to a triple threat match! Having won his tournament match the night before on Friday, Levi came into the match fresh, but he would have to contend with the more experienced Anakin and Iniestra. Eliminating the third man from the equation was the name of the game as each man attempted to turn the match into a one-on-one contest by ousting another from the ring, but no matter who went for a pin, one of the other two competitors was right there to break it up and save his own chance at competing for the gold in the main event until young Levi took advantage of one crucial moment that saw both Iniestra and Anakin vulnerable. From the apron, Levi was able to vault himself over both of his opponents and executed a sunset flip, pinning both Iniestra’s and Anakin’s shoulders down for the 1-2-3, making Levi the new number one contender to the PPW World Heavyweight Championship!

SINGLES MATCH –
SKYE BLUE DEF. ZERO 2 BY WAY OF PIN FALL

Having earned a match against her longtime rival, Connor Corr, by defeating Zero 1 at #PPW201 the night before, Skye Blue was ready to make Connor eat the disrespectful words he had fired at her at #PPW200. Connor, however, had different ideas. Stating that he had never guaranteed Skye a match with him should she defeat Zero 1, Connor announced that he would not be wrestling Skye and that she would instead have to contend with Zero 2. Annoyed by the turn of events, but always willing to take on any comer, Skye fought with the heart and vigor that has made her a fan favorite among the Premier Planet and even though Zero 2 tried to stop Skye’s momentum through the use of a few underhanded tactics, Skye lived up to her name by taking to the sky and delivered a flying cross body to pick up the pin and break through yet another road block on her way to getting her hands on Connor.

SINGLES MATCH –
CONNOR CORR DEF. “NOT BAD” CHAD BY WAY OF PIN FALL

Connor Corr may have avoided a confrontation with Skye Blue at #PPW201, but that didn’t mean he was free and clear of competing in the ring and he was placed into a one-on-one match against a standout from the Premier Academy whose stock has been on the rise in PPW, “Not Bad” Chad. Wanting to prove he was better than Chad in more ways than just wrestling, Connor engaged his opponent in a short dance-off after the opening bell, but when the two got down to business, Chad proved to be quite a roadblock for Connor to overcome, frequently putting Connor on the defensive, even seeing Connor exit the ring to regroup a one point. However, Connor has not built up a reputation of being fair in his attempts to score victories in the ring. When he had Chad in a pinning predicament, Connor put his feet on the ropes where the referee couldn’t see, giving him the unfair advantage he needed to pick up the pin.

SINGLES MATCH –
“THE HUNK WITH THE TREE TRUNKS” CHASE GOSLING DEF. JOSE ACOSTA BY WAY OF PIN FALL

Despite having been ousted from the number one contender tournament by Iniestra and Sem Sei in the opening contest, Chase Gosling was still more than willing and enthusiastic to participate in an exhibition match against one of PPW’s newest faces, Jose Acosta. Still seeking his first win in PPW, but already having won the hearts of the Premier Planet through his grit and determination, Jose put up a noteworthy fight against Chase, but in the end Chase’s size, strength, and experience proved to be too much for the rookie and he fell victim to a leg lariat from the former two-time PPW World Heavyweight Champion. After the match, however, Chase showed humility in victory as he raised Jose’s hand in a show of acknowledgment for the effort he had put into the match.

PPW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP –
“THE WORLD EXCLUSIVE” MATT VINE (C) DEF. LEVI BY WAY OF PIN FALL

The moment of truth finally came for the new number one contender, Levi. Could the Premier Academy standout make the stars and planets align and take home his first PPW World Heavyweight Championship or would he simply prove to be a speed bump for the reigning four-time champion, Matt Vine. Despite being at a clear advantage in terms of power and experience, many wondered what sort of state the champion was in after suffering a devastating loss to the 6’5” 275lb Jay Bradley just one night earlier at #PPW201. To the surprise of many, including Matt Vine, young Levi fought valiantly and even caught the champion off guard on several occasions, but despite coming so close multiple times to winning the gold, the champion ended up being too much for Levi to handle and, with a ground-shaking slam, Matt Vine sealed the deal for the young standout, ending his dreams of championship gold at least for a time. However, Matt knew how much heart Levi had put into the match and, before he left for the locker room, Matt helped Levi back to his feet and offered up a pat on the back, letting the rookie know that he had earned the respect of the four-time champion.
