SINGLES MATCH
NIKOLAI ZHUKOV (W/ “CONNEST” CONNOR CORR) DEF. ZERO 1 BY WAY OF SUBMISSION
With a void left in Connor Corr’s camp after the departure of Zero 1, Connor, now professing himself to be a “man of the world,” revealed a new competitor in the form of Soviet loyalist, Nikolai Zhukov, who proved his ability to dominate in the ring when he made the now deeply patriotic and pro-American Zero 1 tap out to a bear hug, wreaking havoc on Zero 1’s ribs and lower back.
#1 CONTENDERS TAG TEAM MATCH
(WINNERS GET A SHOT AT THE PPW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS IN THE MAIN EVENT)
“EL MERO MERO” INIESTRA & SEM SEI DEF. NOT BAD CHAD & “IRISH” ANDY ANDERSON BY WAY OF PIN FALL
With no legitimate #1 contenders to the Tag Team Championships, a match was held to decide who would be next in line to challenge reigning champions, Jose Acosta and Anakin, for the gold. Still believing themselves to be the true champions, Iniestra and Sem Sei went toe-to-toe with two competitors who were out to gain their first crack at the championships, PPW’s resident party animals, Andy Anderson and Not Bad Chad. Throughout the match, Iniestra and Sem did everything in their power to try and keep the much more experienced and wildly unpredictable Andy Anderson out of the match, but when Chad was finally able to tag Andy in, the tables quickly turned on Iniestra and Sem, but when Andy and Chad looked to put their opponents down for the count with a double team, it would be their downfall. As Chad perched himself on the top turnbuckle, Andy held Sem in place for the offense, but as Chad came off the ropes, Sem was able to escape from Andy’s grasp at the last possible moment, causing Chad to deliver a double axe handle to his partner which enabled Sem to take advantage of a momentary lapse in Chad’s concentration to roll him up and score the pin, bringing him and Iniestra just one step away from reclaiming the PPW World Tag Team Championships.
SINGLES MATCH
“CONNEST” CONNOR CORR DEF. SKYE BLUE BY WAY OF PIN FALL
After the self-proclaimed sportsman, Connor Corr, displayed some very unsportsmanlike conduct by attacking Skye Blue after she defeated him at #PPW225, Skye demanded another match against Connor so she could have a chance at payback, but before the match began, Connor made an announcement that, after this encounter, he was done with Skye, making this Skye’s last chance to finally best Connor once and for all, but as Skye came off the top turnbuckle, her cross-body missed Connor and instead connected with the referee, temporarily disabling him, and Connor took full advantage of the situation by bringing out the big Russian, Nikolai Zhukov, who attacked Skye and enabled Connor to drape himself across her shoulders just as the referee gain consciousness and Connor picked up the victory by way of pin fall, but he didn’t count on Chase Gosling coming to the ring to assist Skye. Annoyed at the supposed intrusion into his business, Connor began to verbally berate Chase, but Connor’s verbal assault was met with a very physical retaliation in the form of a powerbomb, courtesy of “The Hunk with the Tree Trunks.”
PPW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
“THE HUNK WITH THE TREE TRUNKS” CHASE GOSLING DEF. “THE SYMBOL OF EXCELLENCE” MATT VINE (C) BY WAY OF DISQUALIFICATION
In what is perhaps the most bitter rivalry in PPW history, former three-time World Heavyweight Champion, Chase Gosling, looked to become a four-time champion by defeating his former tag team partner and the man who had cost them the PPW World Tag Team Championships, the five-time champion and self-proclaimed “Symbol of Excellence” Matt Vine, but while Chase’s focus was firmly on Vine, he did not count on Connor Corr coming to ringside and, with a shot across the back with Nikolai Zhukov’s Soviet flag, Connor cost Matt the match via disqualification, but cost Chase the World Championship since the title cannot change hands under such circumstances.
PPW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
JOSE ACOSTA & ANAKIN (C) DEF. “EL MERO MERO” INIESTRA & SEM SEI BY WAY OF PIN FALL
On a hot streak after winning the Tag Team Championships a number of weeks ago, Jose Acosta and Anakin stepped up to their next challenge, former champions Iniestra and Sem Sei, who won their opportunity earlier in the evening by defeating Andy Anderson and Not Bad Chad. As hungry as the former champs were to regain what they believed were rightfully their titles, a single moment of miscommunication saw Iniestra backslide Sem, believing him to be one of their opponents. In their confusion, the challengers let down their guard which allowed the champions to take control of the match, sandwich Iniestra and Sem together and as the challengers stumbled back after their collision, Anakin and Jose executed a double roll-up to pin both of their opponents at the same time and retain their titles.
Coming up this Saturday at #PPW227, all three champions will be granted a week off from title defenses, but not a week off from competition. Tag champs Anakin and Jose Acosta will be two competitors vying for a shot at the PPW World Heavyweight Championship in a #1 contenders gauntlet while PPW World Heavyweight Champion, Matt Vine, will go one-on-one with the man who nearly dethroned him during his previous title reign in the main event of #PPW200, “The Prince of Pro Wrestling” TJ Steel.
