SINGLES MATCH
NOT BAD CHAD DEF. ZERO 2 BY WAY OF PIN FALL
In the opening contest, one half of PPW’s resident party animals, Not Bad Chad, took on Zero 2 in a hard-hitting matchup which saw Chad pull out a victory with a spine rattling atomic drop that sent Zero 2 reeling all the way back to the locker room while Chad partied down with the Premier Planet at ringside.
SINGLES MATCH
“IRISH” ANDY ANDERSON DEF. “CONNEST” CONNOR CORR (W/ NIKOLAI ZHUKOV) BY WAY OF DISQUALIFICATION
Having lost and ally in Zero 1, but having now gained another in the Soviet sympathizer, Nikolai Zhukov, Connor Corr was as confident as ever even as he stepped into the ring with PPW’s longest standing veteran, Andy Anderson. Without Zhukov at ringside, Andy would have had the clear advantage, but every time Andy seemed to gain an edge, the big Russian was there to pull Connor out of harm’s way until Andy finally had enough and took the fight to Zhukov. At one point, as Andy had Connor set up for an Andybomb, Zhukov pulled Connor out from under Andy, causing Andy to crash into the canvas and resulting in a disqualification due to outside interference.
BEST OF SEVEN SERIES: MATCH #1
SKYE BLUE DEF. ZERO 1 BY WAY OF COUNT OUT
After their one-on-one match ended in a time limit draw at #PPW227, a best of seven series was announced between fan favorite, Skye Blue, and her enemy-turned-ally, the now very patriotic Zero 1, to see who between the two could rightfully proclaim to be the better wrestler by being the first to four victories. When both found themselves on the floor, it seemed like neither would be able to seize that all important first victory, but at the last possible second, Skye was able to roll under the bottom rope and back into the ring right before the referee reached the count of ten while Zero 1 was not able to break the count. Now that Skye has the first victory, she has an early advantage, but Zero 1 is not out of the game yet as the best of seven series continues this Saturday at #PPW229.
HANDICAP MATCH FOR THE PPW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
“EL MERO MERO” INIESTRA & SEM SEI DEF. ANAKIN (C) BY WAY OF PIN FALL
With his tag team partner, Jose Acosta, suddenly disappearing on him, Tag Team Champion, Anakin, made the brave decision to defend the World Tag Team Championships on his own against the #1 contenders, Iniestra and Sem Sei. With only one opponent standing in their way of reclaiming the gold, Iniestra and Sem thought reclaiming the titles would be swift and easy, but seemed to underestimate young Anakin who held his own against his two challengers for the majority of the match, but as Anakin attempted to deliver a high risk offense from the top turnbuckle, Iniestra and Sem turned the tables into a double team maneuver which ended up being too much for Anakin to take and Iniestra and Sem took back the titles they had previously lost to anakin and Jose Acosta, but what is perhaps an even bigger story is what transpired after the match. As Iniestra and Sem celebrated their victory and new reign as champions, Jose emerged at ringside and carried the Tag Team Championship belts into the ring where, to the shock of the Premier Planet and, of course, Anakin, he handed them to the new champions, raised their hands, and together the three began a beatdown of Anakin in the middle of the ring until Not Bad Chad ran in with a chair and chased of the three assailants. Things didn’t end there, however, as Iniestra got back up on the apron, seemingly preparing to get back into the ring. This would be his undoing as Anakin took the chair and delivered a gruesome shot across Iniestra’s upper back and head. Because of the chair shot, Iniestra has not been cleared to compete this Saturday at #PPW229. However, Sem will now team with his and Iniestra’s new ally, Jose Acosta, to take on the team of Anakin and Not Bad Chad and if anakin and Chad are successful, they will earn a match against the new champions for the PPW World Tag Team Championships. With Jose’s betrayal of Anakin and his new alliance with Iniestra and Sem Sei, Anakin is chomping at the bit to get his hands on his former partner while Chad is looking for his first taste of gold in Premier Pro Wrestling, making both men determined to win while Sem and Jose are equally determined to continue their momentum.
PPW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
“THE SYMBOL OF EXCELLENCE” MATT VINE (C) DEF. “THE BONE DAWG” BRYCE AKERS BY WAY OF PIN FALL
After earning his opportunity at the PPW World Heavyweight Championship, Premier Academy standout, “The Bone Dawg” Bryce Akers, still had quite a mountain to climb in order to take home his first world title reign, because standing in his way would be the five-time PPW World Heavyweight Champion, “The Symbol of Excellence” Matt Vine. It was obvious from the onset that the champ didn’t see his opponent as much of a threat, but Bryce surprised both the champion and the Premier Planet with numerous offensive barrages, but Bryce went to the well once too often and, as he sprung off the tope rope, he met a vicious super kick straight to the jaw which rocked him enough for Matt to cover him, pick up the pin, and dash Bryce’s dreams of walking away with the gold.
Bryce’s defeat now leaves Premier Pro Wrestling with no legitimate #1 contender to Matt Vine and the PPW World Heavyweight Championship, but one will be decided this coming Saturday at #PPW229 in an over-the-top rope battle royal and, as an added bonus, the winner will not have to wait a week to face the champion, because he will get his opportunity in the main event the very same night!
