WEEKLY YOUTUBE MATCH
PPW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION “THE SYMBOL OF EXCELLENCE” MATT VINE DEF. SLICK WILLY BY WAY OF PIN FALL

In an exhibition match to be posted later this week on the official Premier Pro Wrestling YouTube channel, the reigning PPW World Heavyweight Champion, Matt Vine, went one-on-one with a young standout from the Premier Academy, Slick Willy, whose distinct size advantage proved to be an obstacle for the champion, but the self-proclaimed “Symbol of Excellence” showed why he has reigned atop Premier Pro Wrestling a record-setting five times and, after a piledriver left Willy seeing stars, Matt scored a pin over the young standout, further boosting his, many might say, overinflated confidence.

RANDOM DRAWING #1 CONTENDERS GAUNTLET
SEM SEI DEF. “THE HUNK WITH THE TREE TRUNKS” CHASE GOSLING IN THE FINAL ROUND TO WIN

With no legitimate contender to Matt Vine’s PPW Championship, Premier’s best and brightest were given an opportunity to be the next in line to face the champ, but the new contender would be decided not just by in-ring ability, but also by sheer luck: luck of the draw that is. Before the taping, all of the participants drew numbers at random. The individuals who drew numbers one and two would start the gauntlet. Eliminations would be decided by way of pin fall, submission, count out, disqualification, or by going out over the top rope and to the floor. When one competitor was eliminated, the participant with the next number in the sequence would enter to take his place. The match would continue until just one competitor was left standing and that competitor would be crowned the new number one contender. The unlucky draw of number one went to one half of the new World Tag Team Champions, Anakin, who would have to pull off quite a feat of endurance if he hoped to become next in line for a title shot while the number two draw went to Anakin’s former tag team partner, Jose Acosta. The eliminations in the gauntlet proceeded as follows:

Anakin def. Jose Acosta (pin)
Anakin def. “The Bone Dawg” Bryce Akers (pin)
“Connest” Connor Corr def. Anakin (pin)
Not Bad Chad def. “Connest” Connor Corr (over the top rope)
“El Mero Mero” Iniestra def. Not Bad Chad (pin)
“El Mero Mero” Iniestra def. Wolfman Huck (over the top rope)
“Irish” Andy Anderson def. “El Mero Mero” Iniestra (disqualification)
“The Hunk with the Tree Trunks” Chase Gosling def. “Irish” Andy Anderson (pin)

It was now down to the final two participants. With just one more hurdle to clear, Chase Gosling was within reach of earning an opportunity to not only get his hands on his former partner, Matt Vine, but become a four-time PPW World Heavyweight Champion in the process. Entering at the lucky last draw would be one of the individuals Chase had dethroned to win the PPW World Tag Team Championships just one week prior, Sem Sei. Many thought Chase had the match in the bag, but during the course of the match, Chase landed hard on his ankle, creating a target for Sem and leaving Chase with just one tree trunk to stand on. Trying to put the gauntlet to bed, Chase attempted to throw Sem out over the top rope, but Sem held on and, in an impressive showing of leg strength, pulled Chase out and to the floor instead, making Sem the new number one contender to the World Heavyweight Championship!

TAG TEAM MATCH
NOT BAD CHAD & “THE BONE DAWG” BRYCE AKERS DEF. “THE PRINCE OF PRO WRESTLING” T.J. STEEL AND PPW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION “THE SYMBOL OF EXCELLENCE” MATT VINE BY WAY OF PIN FALL

After brutally assaulting Not Bad Chad after a non-title match the week prior, PPW Champion, Matt Vine, and T.J. Steel were challenged to a match by Chad and the man who had come to Chad’s rescue, Bryce Akers. Believing the opposition would be easy pickings, Matt and T.J. accepted, but “The Prince of Pro Wrestling” and “The Symbol of Excellence” underestimated their opposition as Chad and Bryce fought back against everything Matt and T.J. threw at them. Eventually, all four men found themselves in the ring at the same time and, after a double Irish whip, Bryce and Chad rolled up both Matt and T.J. for a jaw-dropping double pin! However, the celebration was short-lived when Matt and T.J. decided to get the last laugh by instigating a beatdown on the winners, leaving them in a heap in the middle of the ring.

LADIES MATCH
SKYE BLUE DEF. CALI YOUNG BY WAY OF PIN FALL

Having fought back from a significant deficit in her best of seven series against Zero 1, Skye Blue earned a one-on-one match against the young woman who had cost her one of the matches in the series, Cali Young. Unenthusiastic about having to face Skye, but nonetheless a woman of her word, Cali showed the lengths she was willing to go to in order to prove her superiority over Skye, but no matter what offense Cali brought to the table, Skye answered with offense of her own and, showing her athletic prowess, Skye rolled Cali up out of the corner, scoring the pin and gaining her retribution against Cali for Cali’s interference in her match at #PPW231.

PPW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
“EL MERO MERO” INIESTRA & SEM SEI DEF. “THE HUNK WITH THE TREE TRUNKS” CHASE GOSLING & ANAKIN (C) BY WAY OF PIN FALL TO WIN THE TITLES

Kicked off of their throne at #PPW235, the self-proclaimed “special people,” Iniestra and the new number one contender to the World Championship, Sem Sei, cashed in their contractual rematch clause against the new title-holders, Chase Gosling and Anakin. However, as badly as Iniestra and Sem wanted to regain the gold, Chase and Anakin wanted to hold onto it and the first fall went to the reigning champions thanks to Chase’s notorious strength, but the challengers regrouped and, as Chase had Iniestra up for another power maneuver, Sem delivered a missile dropkick from the top rope which set Chase off balance and enabled Iniestra to cover him and pick up the second fall. With the score tied, the final fall commenced with both sides just one fall away from leaving with the gold, but ambitions overshadowed order when all four men ended up in the ring at the same time. That was when Iniestra and Sem took advantage and stunned the new champions by getting a pin on Chase, winning the match and reclaiming the titles! However, as soon as the final bell sounded, Chase and Anakin began pleading their case to Premier COO, Randy Ricci, informing him that Anakin, not Chase had been the legal man when the pin fall was counted. Randy allowed the referee’s decision to stand, but was left with a dilemma. As former champions, Chase and Anakin were in line for a rematch, but another team had emerged earlier in the evening as potential contenders for the titles, Not Bad Chad and “The Bone Dawg” Bryce Akers. With two teams chomping at the bit for a crack at the new champions, Randy decided the best course of action would be to decide who the next in line through a number one contenders match. Therefore, at #PPW237, Bryce Akers and Not Bad Chad will take on Chase Gosling and Anakin to determine who will be next to challenge Iniestra and Sem Sei. As for Iniestra and Sem, while they will not have to defend their newly won titles at #PPW237, both will have their hands full when Iniestra goes one-on-one against Premier Academy standout, Slick Willy, while Sem steps into the main event to challenge Matt Vine for the PPW World Heavyweight Championship.
