– SINGLES MATCH –
“TEXAS” PETE DEF. ZERO 1 VIA PIN FALL
The evening’s opening matchup featured the eccentric crowd favorite, “Texas” Pete, against Zero 1 who was noticeably without his partner, Zero 3, for a change. Unable to employ the bait & switch tactic he had utilized along with his partner in recent weeks which brought them within inches of victories in their singles matches last week, Zero 1 struggled against the veteran skills of “Texas” Pete although he displayed some impressive offense on a few occasions. Unfortunately for Zero 1, Pete was just too much to handle on his own and the veteran walked away with the victory via pin fall.
– PPW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP NUMBER ONE CONTENDERS MATCH –
“THE WORLD EXCLUSIVE” MATT VINE DEF. INIESTRA VIA COUNT OUT
After trading the coveted #1 contender’s seat back and forth over the last month, Matt Vine and Iniestra sought to resolve the issue between them once and for all and, in doing so, they gave the Premier Planet a sight to behold in the ring. Able to read each other like a book after having countless encounters over the last year, both competitors employed a blend of old and new strategies in order to gain and keep the advantage. Vine did everything he could, filthy tactics and all, to put Iniestra down, but the Woodstock native refused to be taken alive. The action then spilled to the outside where Vine and Iniestra took repeated turns tossing each other out of the ring. After trading tosses back and forth, a well placed kick to the jaw of Iniestra sealed the deal and Vine was declared the victor by way of a count out, but as Vine celebrated Premier CEO “Rockin'” Randy Ricci came to ringside and announced that the Premier Planet and the PPW World Heavyweight Championship deserve better than a count out victory and made a match between the two for next week where the only way to win will be via pin fall or submission!
– NO DISQUALIFICATION MATCH –
“IRISH” ANDY ANDERSON DEF. “THE SCIENCE” MARCUS SMITH VIA PIN FALL
Despite numerous one-on-one encounters aimed at squashing the animosity between bitter rivals yet successful tag team partners, Marcus Smith and Andy Anderson, the heat only seems to keep building between the two and it came down to the two trying to resolve their issues in a brutal no disqualification match. With no restrictions and knowing what his opponent was capable of under those conditions, Marcus announced that he would not participate unless the referee removed Andy’s chain from the ring. After the ref refused to comply, Marcus announced that there would be no match and proceeded to make his way to the back. However, Marcus must have found his courage and reemerged to start the match. Remarkably, the no disqualification stipulation seemed to bring out a buried intensity in “The Science” and Andy found himself on the receiving end of the punishment on several occasions rather than the other way around. With Andy’s chain completely legal, the two took full advantage of it and beat each other nearly senseless, trading blows at a more or less even pace. When Marcus went under the ring and pulled out a folding chair, it would prove to be his undoing. After ramming the chair’s edge into Andy’s abdomen, Marcus attempted to put Andy away with a shot to the head while Andy was in the corner, but Andy moved causing the chair to bounce off of the turnbuckle and make contact with Marcus’ forehead. Andy quickly capitalized, covering Marcus and gaining the 1, 2, 3. Once he regained his senses, Marcus once again got on the mic and proposed that he and Andy settle things once and for all in the only way that, as Marcus sees it, will finally put their rivalry to rest: a Loser Leaves PPW match. Through Justin Barlow’s interpretation, Andy accepted and next week will be the final heartbreaking PPW appearance for one of these individuals!
– PPW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH –
CHASE GOSLING DEF. “THE HUMAN VIDEO GAME” SCOTT COLTON (C) VIA DISQUALIFICATION
After falling prey to Chase Gosling’s mind games week after week, PPW champ Scott Colton was determined to not let his emotions get the better of him and to put the final nail in the coffin of Chase’s championship dreams. Feeling as though he had the champ right where he wanted him psychologically, Chase showed no mercy as he did everything in his power to put Colton down and seize the title, but the champ would not be denied his chance at redemption and threw everything he had at Chase, proving once again that it’s not the size of the dog in the fight, but the fight in the dog that counts most. Once again, though, Colton allowed his emotions to overrule his brain and, after several failed attempts at rolling Chase up in a schoolboy, Colton hit Chase with a low blow, forcing the referee to award the match to Chase via disqualification. Seeing the shock and disappointment on the faces of the fans in attendance, particularly the younger fans, Colton became distraught with shame and granted Chase’s request for another rematch next week.
