NUMBER ONE CONTENDERS MATCH –
“THE WORLD EXCLUSIVE” MATT VINE VS. “THE HUNK WITH THE TREE TRUNKS” CHASE GOSLING ENDS IN A TIME LIMIT DRAW
Only hours before #PPW186 was set to kick off, it was announced via the Premier Pro Wrestling Facebook page that, due to an injury suffered during the number one contenders triple threat match one week ago, the new number one contender, Iniestra, would not be medically cleared to compete and this now left a vacancy in the evening’s main event. However, instead of simply postponing the world title match for a week, Premier officials decided to shake things up and declared that the winner of the number one contenders match between Chase Gosling and Matt Vine would earn his title opportunity on the same night to fill the vacancy left by Iniestra. Due to the fact that the winner would have to compete twice in one night, Premier officials decided to move the match up the card to the opening contest. With the stakes now even higher than before, Matt and Chase threw every ounce of heart and soul into the match, both coming just within reach of victory numerous times only to have his opponent fight back. As the clock ticked down, both men put in one last gasp to try and seize the world title opportunity, but neither was able to score the decision before time ran out and the match was ruled a time limit draw, leaving no number one contender and Premier officials with yet another conundrum to sort out.
NUMBER ONE CONTENDERS MATCH –
SEM SEI DEF. ANAKIN BY WAY OF PIN FALL
With Iniestra on the shelf and a draw in the number one contenders match, Premier officials had to decide quickly what to do about the night’s main event and it was then decided that the match originally scheduled to be a number one contenders qualifying match would now be upgraded to a number one contenders match. Despite not being able to compete, Iniestra would make an appearance by accompanying Sem Sei to the ring and standing in his corner at ringside which now stacked the odds against Sem’s opponent, Anakin. Not willing to let another chance to become the youngest PPW World Heavyweight Champion in company history slip through his fingers, Anakin set a laser-like focus on Sem, but this also caused him to take his focus off of Iniestra who, on multiple occasions, took advantage of the distracted referee to assist Sem and turn the odds back in his favor and the strategy paid off in the end when, as Anakin was about to deliver a suplex to Sem over the top rope, Iniestra grabbed Anakin’s leg, causing him to lose balance and causing Sem to land on top of him in a pinning position. As the referee counted, he could not see that Iniestra was holding Anakin’s leg from the outside of the ring and this allowed Sem to pick up the win and sent him into his first ever world title match.
SINGLES MATCH –
SKYE BLUE DEF. “SHREDDIN’” CONNOR CORR BY WAY OF DISQUALIFICATION
Unable to rid himself of Skye Blue, the self-proclaimed “feminist,” Connor Corr, adopted a new strategy in order to get the better of Skye. At one point in the match, the referee had to get in between the two and, as he was separating them, Connor struck the referee in the back. Thinking it was Skye who had delivered the blow, the referee issued a stern warning that she was in danger of being disqualified, but Connor’s strategy backfired when the situation seemed to light a fire under Skye who then put a wrestling clinic on Connor. Unfortunately for Connor, it seemed that karma had a front row seat to their match. As the two clashed in the ring, Connor inadvertently struck the referee not once, but twice. After the second blow, the referee had had enough and called for a disqualification against Connor, making Skye the winner and leaving Connor with an even bigger chip on his shoulder.
SINGLES MATCH –
ZERO 1 DEF. SLAPPO BY WAY OF PIN FALL
In a return match from last week, Zero 1 set out to prove he was not the butt of the joke when he squared off against the zany and unorthodox Slappo. Slappo’s unique style and use of mind games paid off for a time, but a well-executed sunset flip saw the jester in a situation he could not escape from and Zero 1 was able to avenge his loss from the week prior with a pin fall victory. Now tied at a win a piece, Slappo and Zero 1 will face off again this coming Saturday night, but it will not be a one-on-one contest. Instead, Zero 1 will be teamed up with Zero 2 to take on the team of Slappo and La Tarantula in a tag team match.
PPW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP –
RONNY “VERONICA” METRO (C) DEF. SEM SEI BY WAY OF PIN FALL
After stealing a victory from Anakin earlier in the evening, the newly crowned number one contender, Sem Sei, entered the ring for his first opportunity to become Premier Pro Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion, but the final obstacle in his way was none other than the reigning champion and one of six individuals to have earned a WWE tryout through the Premier Academy, Ronny “Veronica” Metro. Despite the immense pressure of finally being within reach of the title and the significant disadvantage in experience compared to Ronny, Sem surprised many, particularly Ronny, by controlling a significant portion of the matchup and catching Ronny off guard with a barrage of offense, but it only took seconds for Ronny to use that experience advantage and turn the tables and, with a thunderous splash from the top rope, Ronny was able to gain a pin fall victory over Sem to retain the title. Due to there being no current number one contender, Ronny will not be obligated to defend the championship this coming Saturday, but that does not mean he will not have to compete and he has been placed in a tag team match with fellow Dirty Boy, Andy Anderson, to take on the team of Chase Gosling and a partner of Chase’s choosing. After a breakdown in communication that led to Andy refusing to even appear at #PPW186, the question is now will the Dirty Boys Club be able to get back on the same page to overcome Chase and his mystery partner or will Andy and Ronny’s hot heads prove to be their downfall?
