TAG TEAM MATCH –
“EL MERO MERO” INIESTRA & SEM SEI VS. “THE HUNK WITH THE TREE TRUNKS” CHASE GOSLING & LEVI RULED A NO CONTEST DUE TO OUTSIDE INTERFERENCE
After seizing a victory over the reunited tandem of Chase Gosling and Andy Anderson at #PPW203, Iniestra and Sem Sei looked to make it two in a row when they went toe-to-toe with Chase and his new partner, Premier Academy standout Levi, but as the referee began losing control of the match when all four men found themselves in the ring together and it was then that eight other competitors stormed the ring to join the melee, leaving the referee no choice but to call for the bell and rule the match a no contest, but the situation presented an open window. Since a battle royal was scheduled to take place to crown a new #1 contender for the PPW World Heavyweight Championship, Premier officials decided that, with everyone already int he ring, there was no time like the present and the battle royal got underway.
#1 CONTENDERS BATTLE ROYAL –
WINNERS: “THE HUNK WITH THE TREE TRUNKS” CHASE GOSLING & JOSE ACOSTA
No, Premier Planet, your eyes are not deceiving you. At #PPW204, there was not one, but two #1 contenders crowned when, after eight other men had been thrown over the top rope, it came down to former two-time champion, Chase Gosling, who had been a heavy favorite to win, and Premier Academy standout, Jose Acosta. Just as it seemed like Chase would prove the prediction correct, momentum ended up carrying both him and Jose over the top rope together and to the floor below. This left a bit of a conundrum since there was no singular individual left in the ring, but instead of ruling both men eliminated, Premier officials decided to make the most of the situation and crown both men #1 contenders which changed the main event to a triple threat match! Could Chase Gosling ascend to the summit of PPW for the third time or could Jose rise to the occasion and defy the odds in his first ever World Championship match? We would find out in the main event.
TAG TEAM MATCH –
“NOT BAD” CHAD & “IRISH” ANDY ANDERSON DEF. CONNOR CORR & ZERO 3 BY WAY OF PIN FALL
In the following contest, it was masters & students teaming together when Connor Corr and his “protege,” Zero 3, teamed up against the duo of “Irish” Andy Anderson and “Not Bad” Chad. Seemingly, Andy has taken Chad under his wing in recent weeks and Chad seems to have become a diligent student, because as Andy had Connor isolated in the far corner of the ring, Chad was able to seize on an opening and gain a pin fall over Zero 3, after which both Andy and Chad celebrated by getting down and boogieing in the ring.
SINGLES MATCH –
ZERO 4 (W/ CONNOR CORR) DEF. SKYE BLUE BY WAY OF COUNT OUT
When Connor Corr once again evaded the challenge from Skye Blue, a visibly frustrated Skye had had enough and immediately challenged Connor to put his money where his mouth is and face her if she could defeat Zero 4. The stipulation was made official, giving Skye an added boost of motivation, but when Connor tried to get involved, Skye lost focus on the match and, while chasing Connor around the ringside area in search of some payback, she was counted out, giving the victory to Zero 4. However, due to the circumstances surrounding the match’s conclusion, Skye has been granted a rematch against Zero 4 this Saturday at #PPW205.
TRIPLE THREAT MATCH FOR THE PPW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP –
“THE WORLD EXCLUSIVE” MATT VINE (C) DEF. “THE HUNK WITH THE TREE TRUNKS” CHASE GOSLING AND JOSE ACOSTA BY WAY OF PIN FALL TO RETAIN
With his odds now even more unfavorable, Matt Vine had a one-out-of-three chance of going home with his record-setting fourth title reign in tact. With two hungry challengers on his doorstep, the champion’s advantage was now null and void as he would not even need to be involved in the decision for the title to change hands. At first, Matt and Jose worked together to take the largest man in the match, Chase Gosling, out of the equation, but the alliance was very short-lived and, after ejecting Chase from the ring, it was once again every man for himself. All three competitors would come so close on numerous occasions to scoring the decision only to have the third man save the match at the last second, but in the end, Matt was able to seize on a crucial opening when Jose, perhaps due to his far smaller well of experience, left himself open, giving Matt the opportunity to take a pin fall over the Premier Academy standout, retaining his title and beating the odds.
After a hard-fought triple threat victory, what lies ahead for the champion Matt Vine? While Matt will get a week off from title defenses when he faces Kim Chee in non-title action, his next challenger for the gold will be decided when PPW holds the 2018 Contendership Challenge! Ten competitors will be drawn at random to go head-to-head in singles matches. Wins are scored by pin fall, submission, or by throwing your opponent over the top rope and to the floor below. The challenge goes until there is only one competitor left standing and that person will be crowned the new #1 contender for the PPW World Heavyweight Championship!
