#1 CONTENDERS TAG TEAM MATCH
“EL MERO MERO” INIESTRA & SEM SEI DEF. JOSE ACOSTA & “NOT BAD” CHAD BY WAY OF PIN FALL
With new tag team champions crowned at #PPW215, the question was who would be the first team to earn a shot at the champions and the gold? Two teams were given that very opportunity at #PPW217 when Iniestra and Sem Sei took on the tandem of Premier Academy standouts, “Not Bad” Chad and Jose Acosta. In a contest that lasted nearly forty five minutes, both teams threw whatever they could at the other, both knowing what was at stake, but the critical moment came when Jose attempted a small package on Sem. Sem, however, reversed the maneuver and, thanks to holding on to a handful of Jose’s tights where the referee could not see, Sem scored the pin, bringing him and Iniestra now just one step away from their first taste of tag team gold, but they will have to go through the reigning champions, Matt Vine and Chase Gosling, this Saturday at #PPW218 to get there.
SINGLES MATCH
ZERO 1 DEF. “CONNEST” CONNOR CORR BY WAY OF PIN FALL
Having officially tendered his resignation from Connor Corr’s faction, Zero 1 has struck out on his own, but he first had unfinished business to tend to with his former mentor at #PPW217. When Connor’s true colors showed in the Tag Team Championship tournament at #PPW215, Zero 1 found himself between a rock and a hard place, being left on his own to contend with both Jay Bradley and “The Prince of Pro Wrestling” TJ Steel. That was the last straw for Zero 1 and, when Connor and Zero 2 began a beatdown of Skye Blue the following week, it was Zero 1 who made the save. Now Zero 1 would have the opportunity to get his hands on Connor and dish out some well deserved payback for Connor’s actions over recent weeks and, when Connor let his guard down once too often, Zero 1 seized the opportunity to execute a sunset flip and pinned his former mentor in the middle of the ring showing that, after months under Connor’s tutelage, the student had become the master.
SINGLES MATCH
SKYE BLUE DEF. ZERO 2 (W/ “CONNEST” CONNOR CORR) BY WAY OF PIN FALL
With Connor Corr’s camp now down a man and Connor reeling from a loss to Zero 1, the door was wide open for another competitor to dish out some payback of her own, that being Skye Blue. Before the match began, however, Connor assured everyone in the Premier Planet that Zero 1’s departure had actually been a blessing as it has now made his bond with his other protege, Zero 2, stronger than ever and gloated that that bond would carry Zero 2 to victory over Skye. While Connor may have been rich in words, however, he ended up writing a check he could not cash, because Skye had her opponent scouted and was able to utilize her well of athleticism to execute a reverse-style roll-up to pin Zero 2, making Connor’s camp 0-2 for the evening. Furious at the turn of events, Connor put out a challenge to Zero 1 for a rematch at #PPW218 where he will attempt to show the Premier Planet that what happened this past Saturday was nothing more than a fluke. Coming off of her win over Zero 2, Skye Blue will also be in action this Saturday night when she faces an old nemesis, Lena de Oro, who will be returning to action in the Premier Studio after over a year of absence.
#1 CONTENDERS MATCH
“THE WORLD EXCLUSIVE” MATT VINE VS. ANAKIN THROWN OUT DUE TO OUTSIDE INTERFERENCE
Coming off of a heartbreaking loss after coming closer than ever to becoming PPW World Heavyweight Champion at #PPW216, the young hotshot, Anakin, had another golden opportunity in front of him at #PPW217, but in order to claim a title shot, he would have to go through one half of the PPW World Tag Team Champions and the only four-time World Champion in PPW history, Matt Vine. Despite their mutual respect, friendship was put to the side as both men wanted to earn the chance to dethrone the champion. However, that opportunity was taken away from both when Iniestra and Sem Sei stormed the ring with kendo stick in hand and began a beatdown on Matt, forcing the referee to throw the match out. Their plan went awry, however, when Jose Acosta joined the fight to help even the odds which allowed Matt to turn the tables on Iniestra and Sem who were chased out of the ring and back to the locker room.
With the number one contendership still undecided, it seems that Chase Gosling’s reign is safe for the time being, but Chase still stands to lose a lot this coming Saturday when he puts the World Tag Team Championship on the the line against the new number one contenders, Iniestra and Sem Sei. However, now having angered Chase’s partner, Matt Vine, Iniestra and Sem will have a hard battle to overcome if they want to leave #PPW218 as the new World Tag Team Champions.
