– BATTLE ROYAL TO DETERMINE A NEW #1 CONTENDER TO THE PPW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP –
“IRISH” ANDY ANDERSON DEF. ULYSSES S. ADAMS, “THE CORNFED COLOSSUS” MICHAEL MACK, ZERO-1, RONNY METRO, “THE FIVE TOOL PLAYER” CHASE GOSLING, AND “THE HUMAN VIDEO GAME” SCOTT COLTON
The holiday weekend kicked of in spectacular fashion with a battle royal to crown a new contender to Matt Vine and the PPW World Heavyweight Championship with the winner receiving his opportunity in the main event. Former champions and hopefuls alike collided for their respective chance to regain the summit in PPW or taste it for the first time. In the end, Andy Anderson crushed the dream of Scott Colton to become the last man standing and set his crosshairs on Matt Vine.
– CHALLENGE PRO CUP TOURNAMENT SEMIFINAL MATCH –
“THE HUMAN VIDEO GAME” SCOTT COLTON DEF. “THE FIVE TOOL PLAYER” CHASE GOSLING VIA PIN FALL
After coming up short in the battle royal, Chase Gosling and Scott Colton were extra motivated to advance to the finals of the Challenge Pro Cup Tournament, but they would have to endure a grueling 2-out-of-3 falls match to get there. Colton gained the high ground early on by reversing an attempted electric chair drop into a roll-up for a pin, but Chase soon caught up thanks to a brutal “mustache ride” powerbomb. Now, tied at one fall a piece, both former champions pulled out all the stops to ensure the next fall would be theirs. With what seemed to be the last gasp of air in his lungs, Colton was able to catch Chase in a small package and keep his shoulders down long enough for the referee to make the three count, carrying Colton into the finals of the Challenge Pro Cup Tournament.
– CHALLENGE PRO CUP TOURNAMENT SEMIFINAL MATCH –
RONNY METRO DEF. “THE CORNFED COLOSSUS” MICHAEL MACK VIA PIN FALL
In the second semifinal match of the tournament, Ronny Metro met the big Texan, Michael Mack. Having a distinct size disadvantage, Ronny took every advantage he could and repeatedly reached into his bag of tricks to even the odds, first holding onto the second rope while sitting across Mack’s chest, unseen by the referee whose eyes were on Mack’s shoulders, followed by a rake to Mack’s eyes which lead to Ronny hitting a Russian leg sweep and holding onto a handful of Mack’s trunks while the referee was, again, counting Mack’s shoulders down. With this win, Ronny now goes on to the final taping of 2016 where he will face “The Human Video Game” Scott Colton for the Challenge Pro Cup.
– SINGLES MATCH –
“THE FIVE TOOL PLAYER” CHASE GOSLING DEF. ZERO-1 VIA PIN FALL
After being eliminated from both the number one contenders battle royal AND the Challenge Pro Cup Tournament, Chase Gosling was huffing and puffing like the Big Bad Wolf on his way to the ring to make an example of Zero-1 and that is what he did. As Zero-1 took his eyes off the ball and allowed himself to become distracted by the crowd, Chase was able to send him down to the mat with a “mustache ride” powerbomb for the win.
– PPW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH –
“IRISH” ANDY ANDERSON DEF. “THE WORLD EXCLUSIVE” MATT VINE (C) VIA COUNT OUT
Flying high after surviving the battle royal, Andy Anderson was full of confidence as he came to the ring for his title match against the champ, Matt Vine, and having Ronny Metro at ringside only strengthened that confidence. Ronny’s presence was utilized on more than a handful of occasions as he assisted Andy at just about every available opportunity in order to ensure that Vine would not walk out of the Premier Studio with the gold. Finally sick of of the constant interference, Vine went after Ronny, trying to take him out of the equation, but as all three brawled on the floor, the referee was administering the ten count. With barely a second to spare, Andy rolled back into the ring just before the count of ten and was awarded the match by way of count out. However, since a title cannot change hands under such circumstances, Matt Vine lives to fight another day as your PPW World Heavyweight Champion. Once Andy and Ronny had gloated and made their way to the back, Chase Gosling emerged at ringside and issued a challenge to Vine for the title on January 30th. Premier CEO, Randy Ricci, stated that, if Vine agreed, the match would take place, but since Chase has not earned a shot at the championship yet, the match will be non-title.
