SINGLES MATCH –
“THE WORLD EXCLUSIVE” MATT VINE DEF. LA TARANTULA BY WAY OF PIN FALL
Still chomping at the bit for his first win in PPW, La Tarantula stepped into the ring with a very tall order to fill in the form of the only three time champion in PPW history, Matt Vine. It should come as no surprise that after showing a tremendous amount of fortitude against Andy Anderson in previous weeks, La Tarantula put up quite an offense against Matt, but La Tarantula’s inexperience worked against him and, letting his guard down for just a flash of a moment, he fell victim to a brutal Vinebuster, leading to him being pinned by the former champ.
GRUDGE MATCH –
“THE HUNK WITH THE TREE TRUNKS” CHASE GOSLING DEF. “IRISH” ANDY ANDERSON BY WAY OF PIN FALL
At #PPW180, Chase Gosling may very well have become a three time PPW Heavyweight Champion if it had not been for the interference of his one-time friend turned bitter rival, Andy Anderson. Instead of storming out of the gate as soon as the bell rang as many expected due to his anger with Andy, Chase employed a different tactic, preferring to get into Andy’s head rather than giving him a beatdown, including giving Andy a rather unenviable “thumbs up.” The plot worked for a time, but Andy soon found himself with an opening and, out of sight of the referee, executed a low blow to Chase, turning the tide of the match to Andy’s favor. Trying to put the match to rest, Andy attempted a pin fall and put his feet on the ropes for added leverage, but the referee caught him at the count of two and forced the break. While Andy argued with the referee, Chase took the opportunity to catch Andy off guard and roll him up for the pin fall. Furious at the outcome, Andy attacked Chase from behind and left him laying in the middle of the ring. When Chase came to, he challenged Andy to a rematch at #PPW182 and promised to “neuter” him.
SINGLES MATCH –
SKYE BLUE DEF. “SHREDDIN’” CONNOR CORR BY WAY OF PIN FALL
After intervening when it seemed like Connor Corr was out to legitimately injure Skye Blue at #PPW180, Chase Gosling issued a challenge to Connor that, should he lose in a match to Skye, Connor would have to face Chase in a match for ten minutes. It was perhaps Connor’s own arrogance that proved to be his undoing when he not only accepted the stipulation, but failed to deliver when Skye was able to roll him up with a schoolboy for a pin. Despite knowing that he would now have to step into the ring with the 6’6” 250lb former PPW champion, Connor showed an incredible amount of confidence and headed back to the locker room to prepare for the encounter.
TRIPLE THREAT NUMBER ONE CONTENDERS MATCH –
ANAKIN DEF. SEM SEI & “THE WORLD EXCLUSIVE” MATT VINE BY WAY OF PIN FALL
When Anakin picked up a disqualification victory over Sem Sei in the number one contenders qualifying match at #PPW180, meaning he could not advance to a number one contenders match due to the circumstances, a triple threat match was scheduled between Anakin, Sem Sei, and Matt Vine to determine a legitimate number one contender. Under triple threat rules, there would be no disqualifications or count outs, meaning the only way to win would be through pin fall or submission. With Sem and Anakin both seeking their first shot at the gold and Matt seeking his record setting fourth reign at the top, the three fought tooth and nail, each coming within inches of claiming victory, but a fourth man would play a key role when Iniestra interfered, shoving Matt from the top rope and briefly turning the tide in favor of his protege, Sem Sei who, with Matt now out of action for the time being, delivered a superplex to Anakin from the top rope, but in a stunning twist, Anakin was able to hook Sem’s leg upon landing and seize a pin, meaning that now, at just seventeen years old, Anakin has earned a spot in the main event at #PPW182 and is just one step away from potentially becoming the youngest PPW Champion in history.
SINGLES MATCH –
“THE HUNK WITH THE TREE TRUNKS” CHASE GOSLING DEF. “SHREDDIN’” CONNOR CORR BY WAY OF SUBMISSION
With ten minutes at his disposal, Chase Gosling was out to teach Connor Corr a lesson in chivalry and he brought Skye Blue to the ring with him to bear witness. Despite an apparent overflow of confidence, Connor was simply unable to compete with Chase’s size, strength, and experience and, at quite literally the last minute, Chase forced Connor to tap out to the Saturday Night Special, but it seems that Connor has not yet learned the error of his ways and placed the blame for the loss squarely on Skye whom he has challenged to a match at #PPW182.
– PPW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH –
RONNY “VERONICA” METRO (C) DEF. “EL MERO MERO” INIESTRA BY WAY OF PIN FALL
Now the number one contender for the title, Iniestra was after his second reign with the gold, but in his way was the unorthodox and some might even say psychotic title holder, Ronny “Veronica” Metro. Knowing he would be outmatched in the power game, Iniestra attempted to use his agility to ground Ronny throughout the match and, for a time, it worked, but there is a good reason why Ronny is one of the six individuals to have a WWE tryout in PPW’s four and a half year history and, having Iniestra scouted, he was able to deliver a gut wrench power bomb for the win, sending Iniestra back down the ladder and Ronny on to his next challenger, Premier Academy standout, Anakin.
