SINGLES MATCH
SKYE BLUE DEF. ZERO 4 BY WAY OF PIN FALL
Shifting into high gear at the onset, #PPW221’s opening contest featured Premier Planet favorite, Skye Blue, taking on Zero 4 in one-on-one action. With Zero 4 in the camp of her arch nemesis, Connor Corr, Skye Blue knew she couldn’t allow momentum to shift in Connor’s favor heading into their tag team clash later on in the evening and, with a diving cross-body from the top turnbuckle, Skye secured the momentum for her and her tag team partner, Bryce Akers, heading into their showdown with Connor and Zero 3.
SINGLES MATCH
“THE WORLD EXCLUSIVE” MATT VINE DEF. NOT BAD CHAD BY WAY OF PIN FALL
With a tank full of confidence after besting his former tag team partner, Chase Gosling, by way of disqualification in their World Heavyweight Championship match at #PPW220, Matt Vine was looking to gain some momentum of his own heading into his championship rematch with Chase, but Matt severely underestimated his opponent, Not Bad Chad, who successfully got under Matt’s skin in the match’s early going, breaking into dance every time he would evade Matt’s offense, but now no longer concerned with setting a positive example for the Premier Planet, Matt became more focused on embarrassing Chad on top of simply defeating him and, as Chad had Matt rolled up in a small package, Matt reversed it and, thanks to a handful of Chad’s tights, picked up the victory by way of pin fall, but just as we’ve seen in the past, win, lose, or draw, Chad ended the night on a high note by getting down and having a dance party with the Premier Planet.
TAG TEAM MATCH
BRYCE AKERS & SKYE BLUE DEF. ZERO 3 & “CONNEST” CONNOR CORR BY WAY OF PIN FALL
With momentum on their side thanks to Skye’s victory over Zero 4 earlier in the evening, Skye Blue and PPW newcomer, Bryce Akers, wanted to even the score between them and the self-proclaimed feminist and sportsman, Connor Corr, after Connor and his Zeroes worked around the rule book to defeat Skye and Bryce at #PPW220. Despite being the least experienced participant in the match, Bryce Akers showcased remarkable skills as he and Skye gelled into a formidable tandem and, as Skye isolated Connor across the ring, Bryce delivered an impressive underhook faceplate maneuver to Zero 3 which was enough for Bryce to pick up the victory by way of pin fall, gaining him and Skye retribution for their loss at #PPW220.
PPW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
“THE WORLD EXCLUSIVE” MATT VINE DEF. “THE HUNK WITH THE TREE TRUNKS” CHASE GOSLING (C) BY WAY OF DISQUALIFICATION
Believing himself to be firmly in the head of the PPW Champion, Chase Gosling, Matt Vine set out to win his record-setting fifth PPW World Title, but his tactics at #PPW220 that ultimately led to Chase being disqualified, has only added fuel to Chase’s fire and Chase was now more determined than ever to prove once and for all that he is the better man. Chase gained an early edge in the match when he reintroduced the Premier Planet to a particular chant aimed squarely at Matt, throwing Matt’s focus off for a time, but soon the ball was back in Matt’s court. Chase, however, would not surrender without a fight, no matter how many liberties Matt tried to take with the rule book. After being thrown out of the ring by Chase, Matt reached under the ring and pulled out a small chain which he proceeded to wrap around his hand while the referee was distracted with Chase inside the ring. Keeping the chain out of sight, Matt got up on the apron and distracted the referee, but when he tried to hit Chase with the chain, Chase blocked the swing, removed the chain, then wrapped it around his own hand. Then, turning the tables on Matt, Chase landed a blow right to Matt’s face while the referee was still distracted, knocking him out momentarily and gaining the pin fall. However, as Chase celebrated retaining his title, the chain he had used to hit Matt with fell out from under his arm in full view of the referee who, calling things as he saw them, reversed the decision and awarded the match to Matt by way of disqualification, meaning Chase would retain his championship, but end up 0 – 2 against Matt. Furious at the development, Chase issued a challenge to Matt for a rematch at #PPW222, hoping to finally gain a clean victory over his former tag team partner and prove once and for all that he deserves to hold the PPW World Heavyweight Championship.
PPW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
ANAKIN & JOSE ACOSTA DEF. “EL MERO MERO” INIESTRA & SEM SEI (C) BY WAY OF PIN FALL
After a confusing double pin saw Iniestra and Sem Sei retain the PPW World Tag Team Championships at #PPW220, the challengers, Anakin and Jose Acosta, were granted a rematch, only this time it would be under 2-out-of-3 falls rules, meaning the first team to score two decisions would walk away with the titles. However, things did not play out n accordance to the stipulation. Introducing a kendo stick into the match, Iniestra and Sem were caught red handed by the referee who decided to throw the entire contest out due to the circumstances, but as Iniestra and Sem were about to leave, satisfied that their championship reign was still in tact, Anakin and Jose got on the mic and challenged the champions to return to the ring to start a whole new match with Jose dropping a not too family friendly word in Spanish on Iniestra and Sem who took exception to the name-calling and gave Anakin and Jose the second match they were after. It would prove to be Iniestra and Sem’s downfall because, in a near identical reflection of the close of their match the week prior, Anakin covered Sem while Iniestra covered Jose across the ring and another double pin was counted. However, after a moment of confusion and anticipation, the referee handed the Tag Team Championship belts over to their new owners, Anakin and Jose, due to Anakin and Sem having been the legal men during the double pin. However, a furious Iniestra demanded that he and Sem be allowed to invoke their rematch clause at #PPW222 which was granted by Premier COO, Randy Ricci. For the time being, however, there are new World Tag Team Champions in PPW and a big congratulations go out to Anakin and Jose Acosta who now reign atop the tag team division in Premier Pro Wrestling!
